Old City hallWe talked about eloping, but we wanted the kiddos to be involved. So we finally figured, hey, our apartment has a built in stage, a kitchen with all the necessary utensils, and if we moved the dining room table could fit a decent size crowd – and we wouldn't have to rush around decorating right before. So the wedding will be held in our apartment, as well as the dinner/reception. This won't be a stuffy affair, but Tasha's looking forward to whipping up a tasty feast.

The Ceremony

We'll be performing the ceremony ourselves. It will consist of Tasha's vows to the kids, and Tasha and Joshua's vows to each other. Nice and short.

The Reception

The whole wedding is carbon neutral, with food from local, organic producers. We're happy to be serving beef from New Grass Farm, sausage from Geiss' Meats, squash from Stoney Acres Farm, milk products from Organic Valley, beer from O'So Brewing Company, various and sundry veggies from our parents.

The Menu

  • Braised brisket
  • Creamy polenta
  • Curried winter squash soup
  • Seasonal veggies
  • Sausage & cheese
  • Cauliflower & broccoli salad
  • Deviled eggs
  • Pickled stuff, including dilly beans and dill pickles
  • Wedding cupcakes, in carrot cake and chocolate (both recipes handed down by Tasha's family)

How to get here

If you don't know where the old Merrill City Hall is, here are links to directions from Google maps and Mapquest. You'll notice the address is wrong on Google maps... if you use the correct address you'll end up in the wrong place. The front door is on the back side of the building – normally you'd ring to be let in but we'll probably have the door propped open that day. If not just hit the buzzer for 304 and we'll let you up.
